Growing trade with China in offshore wind

Following delivery of a range of activities to support inward investment into the UK, through a competitive process we were selected to support a key trade mission to help the growing trade with China in offshore wind.

We travelled in China to engaged with developers and turbine makers in China to deliver two slide packs that we developed:

• One for Chinese offshore turbine manufacturers about the opportunities in the UK and European market
• One for Chinese developers on the benefits of using UK expertise to help reduce the cost of offshore wind in China.

We also developed a UKTI (now DIT)  ‘pitch book’ for UK offshore wind companies to explain the opportunities for them in the Chinese offshore wind market, and the routes to entry. This guide was launched at the Global Offshore Wind conference and exhibition in 2016.
