Our strong relationships within the supply chain, the developer community, government and other enabling organisations helped LM Wind Power with the efficiency and quality of dialogue with organisations across the UK.

LM Wind Power, approached us for support on an exploratory analysis to assess the UK market and the potential for establishing industrial presence.

We helped our client understand the potential size of the offshore wind market available to them, based on our understanding of turbine manufacturers’ intentions, and assessed a range of possible manufacturing locations with appropriate infrastructure and accessible to customers.

We furthermore provided information on likely customer market share and exploring innovative models for supply that would unlock an increased customer base.

Over time, we provided more independent assessment of the UK offshore wind market size, drivers and specific opportunities. Using our market knowledge and awareness of purchasing strategies, we provided commentary on developers’ purchasing strategies and opportunities regarding UK content and manufacturing and construction base plans.

We also assessed UK sub-supplier opportunities based on specific criteria supplied by the client. We engaged with the supply chain to establish a UK content baseline for the UK manufacture of blades. We provided the analysis in a form which would allow LM Wind Power to easily incorporate its findings into developer’s supply chain plans for submission to government if needed.
