Our industry dialogue, the process of finalising the content with the national trade body and the publication of the report helped diverse businesses to get in-step with each other and started the process of offshore wind transitioning into an industry with its own identity.

Following successful delivery of keynote report Offshore Wind: At a Crossroads the year before, BVG Associates won a tender to deliver Renewable UK’s next flagship publication in offshore wind, “UK Offshore Wind: Moving up a gear”.

Drawing on extensive dialogue with the industry, the report identified the key issues facing the industry under the following headings:

• Economics
• Site awards
• Consenting
• Grid
• Supply chain
• Operation.

The “UK Offshore Wind: Moving up a gear” report marked an important transition for the industry from demonstration to commercial scale offshore wind and was highly influential in building confidence across the industry and within government. It is available to download on our publications page.

“BVGA’s depth of knowledge in the wind industry allied to a highly professional approach enabled key issues to be drawn out of the stakeholder engagement in this project, aiding our policy engagement with Government.”
