Developers take up positions as Philippines’ ‘significant potential’ explored in Riviera media reports on our offshore roadmap

It outlines the content of the roadmap that was discussed in detail during a 7 December webinar. Two scenarios were outlined: a low-growth scenario, with 3 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040 and 6 GW by 2050; and a high-growth scenario, in which the Philippines has 20 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040 and as much as 40 GW by 2050. With a moratorium on contracting further new coal-fired generation and increasing electricity demand, we found the Philippines needs an energy source that can deliver high volume.

Mona Pettersen led our work on this project.
