Our first-hand experience of a wide range of novel wind turbine concepts and drive train technologies, combined with a thorough understanding of product development in wind meant that we were an obvious choice to provide due diligence services.
We provided a due diligence report for the White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund, managed by Aberdeen Asset Management. This incorporated a broad assessment of the wind industry, including market and structure, followed by a detailed analysis of standard and novel wind turbine drive train concepts. We also assessed routes to market in the light of experiences of other disruptive technologies and potential synergies with other sectors. Focussing on the target company, a recent university spin-out, we documented a detailed review of the technology, product development and partnering plans, cost estimates and risks, leading to a range of recommendations for maximising value of investment.
