Norwegian Energy Partners is hosting offshore Wind expert workshop and meetings across Europe. This workshop is being held in Alesund on the 28 and 29 March, 2017.
Global offshore wind capacity has more than trebled in the past five years, reaching 13,2 GW in 2016 and is forecast to reach 40GW in five years and over 60GW in the next ten years. Capital and operational expenditure is forecast to grow by 15-20% pa to around EUR 250 billion over the next ten years. A market approaching EUR 25 billion pa. The European market is the cradle of the industry and with more than 90% of current offshore wind deployment and expenditure predicted to hit EUR 70 billion over the next five years it is and interesting offering to Norwegian industry.
Offshore wind is a proven technology and cost is rapidly reduced to approach a pure commercial stage. The combination of global growth and a desire to reduce costs makes offshore wind hugely appealing for an innovative Norwegian supply chain with its strong offshore and maritime expertise.
