Offshore Wind workshop and expert meetings Bergen will feature BVGA’s Alan Duncan discussing oil & gas diversification to offshore wind where Norwegian Energy Partners is inviting you to explore your opportunities in the growing offshore wind industry.

Global offshore wind capacity has more than trebled in the past five years, reaching 13.2 GW in 2016 and is forecast to reach 40GW in five years and over 60GW in the next ten years. Capital and operational expenditure is forecast to grow by 15-20% pa to around EUR 250 billion over the next ten years. A market approaching EUR 25 billion pa. The European market is the cradle of the industry and with more than 90% of current offshore wind deployment and expenditure predicted to hit EUR 70 billion over the next five years it is and interesting offering to Norwegian industry.

Offshore wind is a proven technology and cost is rapidly reduced to approach a pure commercial stage. The combination of global growth and a desire to reduce costs makes offshore wind hugely appealing for an innovative Norwegian supply chain with its strong offshore and maritime expertise.

Workshop will include a 45 minute presentation by Alan highlighting nine typical areas where oil and gas companies can find opportunities in offshore wind based on a set of criteria developed by BVGA in a Scottish industry study. 2-3 Norwegian examples of oil & gas and maritime expertise utilized in offshore wind will be presented and there will be ample time to discuss.

One-2-one meetings will include discussions about the market and the company’s current capabilities, its value proposition to offshore wind, its opportunities as well as positioning of product/technology. The meetings are scheduled to be 45-60 minutes and will be prepared and structured by the adviser before the meeting to make it highly efficient. You will also receive minutes with strategic feedback after the meeting. Time is allocated on a first come first serve basis, but with priority to Norwegian Energy Partners partners/members. Your meeting will be confirmed at the registration deadline of 23 February. Please note: Registrations after the deadline will not give priority to Norwegian Energy Partners partners/members.
