Neil Douglas will be delivering a session on levelised cost of energy at this year’s Harper Macloed LLP’s Scottish Highland Renewable Energy Conference (SHREC),  on 25 April at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness. Neil will be delivering insight on:

  • How are renewable technologies and industry are facing up to the challenge of cost-competitiveness
  • Future-view of the cost of renewables
  • What does this mean for renewables in Scotland?
  • Implications for communities and stakeholders in terms of planning

While the renewable industry has had to deal with a number of challenges in recent years, at SHREC we’ll be focusing on the positives and identifying key opportunities that exist for the sector, particularly in the Highlands and Islands.

The Big Issues – as always we’ll look at the issues that matter to people on the ground. This year, our main themes will include:

Heat networks – and how the private and public sectors can co-operate to great effect
Communities and energy storage – looking at some pioneering examples of the potential of energy storage
Repowering existing installations – how can we get more out of the infrastructure we already have?
