By providing an external support to investigate funding sources and helping to prepare bids, we enabled the busy technical team at Marine Current Turbines (MCT) to remain focussed on product development whilst still being able to assess and access the most suitable funding.
Marine Current Turbines asked BVG Associates to assess public R&D funding opportunities due to its long-term experience with UK and EU R&D funding. They knew we had significant experience acting both for funding sources and as part of successful project teams.
We met with MCT to make sure we had a thorough understanding of its product, site development pipelines and its R&D needs. With this detailed picture of the company and its needs we were then able to assess a wide range of potential funding sources. We used this to deliver a plan, identifying the best funding sources and calls to apply for, together with key dates and requirements.
We then worked with MCT on their proposal for Horizon 2020 funding , the EU funded research and innovation programme.
