Bruce is quoted as saying “it is a great sign of maturity of offshore wind” that it is engaging more and more with parallel sectors. “Innovative suppliers in the oil and gas, defence and space sectors have a lot to offer and hopefully much to gain from opportunities in offshore wind,” he said. “Many oil and gas companies are already making a difference, especially in marine and subsea operations and asset management. Synergies with the defence sector have been in composites, condition monitoring and communications. We see further opportunities around improving reliability.”
