This is positive news for UK renewables – but the key will be translation into policy is BVGA’s Mike Blanch views on the possible implications of the UK Government’s consultation on changes to the Contracts for Difference (CfD) system for low carbon generation.

Mike was asked by Recharge to give his views on the potential implications of the consultation, especially on UK onshore wind and solar development. Mike concluded that while the consultation was very welcome, it must lead to fresh policy to allow the renewable sector to deliver the Government’s 2050 net zero targets at a reasonable price for consumers while keeping the lights on.
