BVGA open new Scottish office in Glasgow and expands team.
4 September 2017, Glasgow, Scotland
BVG Associates (BVGA) has moved its Scottish headquarters to inovo in central Glasgow, in the heart of the Scottish low carbon energy sector.
Inovo is at the heart of Glasgow’s International Technology and Renewable Energy Zone. Designed to encourage partnerships between companies within the industry, inovo plays a key part in Scotland’s thriving renewable energy sector and we are excited to be part of it. Developed and owned by Scottish Enterprise, inovo is a low carbon emissions Grade A office building which has an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A, reflecting the environmental ethos and goals of the sector.
“The decision to expand into our new Glasgow office was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Neil Douglas, director, BVG Associates. “Inovo is an outstanding example of an inspiring modern working environment, designed to the highest possible environmental standards, and we’re delighted to make it our home in Scotland. Glasgow is rich with key players in the renewable energy market and has a pool of talent that we are keen to be a part of as we grow and strengthen our team. We look forward to being close to clients and partners old and new.”
At the same time, BVGA is delighted to have strengthened its team with the appointment of Scott Hamilton as a senior associate.
Scott will be based in the new Glasgow office and brings substantial expertise in providing technical consultancy, due diligence and market analysis to clients of all sizes and across both the onshore and offshore wind markets. His in-depth industry knowledge helps clients identify and make the most of their opportunities in renewable energy.
Scott joins BVGA from EnergieKontor, where he was engaged in the design, optimisation and development of onshore wind projects. He also has previous and substantial experience in project due diligence for on and offshore wind projects and in market research for the offshore wind supply chain.
In joining BVGA as a senior associate Scott will have responsibility for front-line client liaison and delivering a range of technical consultancy projects to our global client base. He’ll also play a key role in expanding BVGA’s wind farm life extension, asset management and due diligence work. These areas are becoming increasing important as the wind industry matures, levelised cost of energy reduces and legacy assets approach the end of their design life.
“Scott joins us at an exciting time for renewable energy globally and especially in Scotland,” said Douglas. “Scott shares our values and brings proven skills and experience that will enable us to deliver first-class business analysis and due diligence services to clients, including wind farm asset owners, investors and wider industry stakeholders.
“I’m delighted to be joining the great team at BVGA,” said Scott, ‘I’m especially looking forward to supporting the next phase of wind farm development in Scotland and helping global investors to grow their renewable energy portfolios
Neil Douglas added “Our growing capability in Glasgow will continue to work in a highly integrated manner with colleagues at BVGA’s headquarters in Cricklade, Wiltshire. We’re also delighted that our colleague Andy Logan will be relocating from our HQ to be with the team in Glasgow. Andy has been with BVGA for over 12 months and has firmly established himself as a highly valued member of our consultancy team, providing technical, market and supply chain expertise.”
