Neil Douglas can help your business make the most of its wind assets using his commercial and technical expertise. His 20 years’ experience in the commercial and technical aspects of renewable energy generation mean he’s always able to give practical and effective advice.
His main areas of expertise include wind farm asset management, performance engineering, technical due diligence and risk analysis for onshore and offshore wind farms. He also has extensive knowledge of wind lidar wind resource and energy yield prediction, wind farm design and mitigating complex wind flow issues. For wave and tidal energy generation, he has also been involved in the development and application resource analysis and project design methods.
Neil uses his skills and experience to focus on strategy, management and commercial issues as well as provide technical input for our clients across the globe.
Recognising the large amount of crossover between the commercial and technical worlds, Neil is able to develop answers to tough problems, combining technical and commercial advice to deliver results throughout life cycle of projects.
Neil also heads up our Scottish office, ensuring that our team continue to develop our relationships with the Scottish renewable community, including enablers, governments, financiers, developers and manufacturers.
He is passionate about helping clients meet their challenges by understanding their business and ensuring projects are cost-competitive. Making time for client discussions and meetings, both in and out of the office is always the top priority for Neil.
Neil joined BVGA after many years in Natural Power and holds a Masters in Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde.
Although officially based in Glasgow, Neil spends a considerable amount of time at client locations and relevant industry conferences across the globe.
