Senior Consultant, BVG Associates (2023 to present)
Stuart works across BVGA’s industry building, business strategy, and auctions and economics teams. He enables clients in the onshore and offshore wind markets to achieve renewable energy targets. Using his problem solving expertise, Stuart delivers results using rigorous research, stakeholder engagement and bespoke modelling. He also uses his strong technical background as BVGA’s foundations lead. Before joining BVGA, Stuart held roles in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation industry. Stuart enjoys engaging with clients to deliver positive change. He is driven by his natural curiosity to find solutions for clients.

Involved in a range of engineering tasks for front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed design and operational stage projects in the energy sector
Associate Design Engineer, Fluor (2018 to 2022)
Performed various roles across numerous projects including engineering design at FEED stage, change management at detailed design stage and onsite construction management during the construction stage.
Audit Trainee, AAB (2017 to 2018)
Analysis of companies’ annual accounts alongside sitting of ICAS examinations, TC level passed at first attempt.
Recent key projects
Fixed and floating offshore wind developer: Auction Round 7 (AR7) Clean industry bonus (CIB) preparation
Stuart worked with the developer’s inhouse procurement team to prepare CIB minimum standard and CIB extra proposals across two of the developer’s projects. This involved advising on CIB guidance, coordinating engagement with suppliers and preparing relevant documentation. All minimum standards documents were accepted by the UK’s Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and several extra proposals were successful.
Scottish renewables: Scottish onshore wind pipeline
Understanding the onshore wind project pipeline was a key commitment of the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal. Stuart led the development of a model to help deliver this commitment. The model has been used to drive government and industry discussions on overcoming barriers to realising Scotland’s onshore wind potential.
New Jersey Board of Public Utilities: socioeconomic assessment of offshore wind in New Jersey and East Coast US
Stuart developed and modelled supply chain scenarios to determine the jobs and gross value-add created by the offshore wind market in New Jersey and the East Coast.
Floating offshore wind developer: Auction Round 6 (AR6) Supply chain plan
Stuart worked with the developer’s inhouse teams to prepare evidence in support of its supply chain plan. The plan was approved by the UK’s Department of Energy Security and Net Zero as part of the AR6 submission.
