Founding
philosophy
Bruce Valpy, Managing Director, founded BVG Associates in 2006 with the vision of assembling a team which combines expertise in the technology, economic and commercial realities of wind energy with excellence in strategy consulting. Our focus has always been to help clients in practical ways to succeed in the wind industry and to influence global change.
BVGA has grown into a leading independent renewable energy and strategic consultancy with global influence. Person-for-person no other organisation has had a greater impact in progressing the global wind energy industry. Clients come to BVGA when they need to do new things, think in new ways and solve tough problems. Our team are always learning and finding new ways to enable change.
Our team has a wide mix of experience, expertise and passions but we all care about making a difference, together. All our team are fully involved in client projects, each playing to their strengths and supporting each other’s delivery, learning and growth.

Applications close at 09:00 UK time on 29 June.
Both roles offer hybrid working, with a minimum of two office-based days each week. in either our rural Wiltshire office near Cricklade, or our Glasgow city office. We offer flexible working arrangements including every Friday afternoon off.
You’ll get a salary of GBP 30 000 to GBP 35 000 depending on experience and expertise, with regular salary reviews. You also get the equivalent of 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. The information pack has the full list of benefits of working for us.
Consultant
The role
The Consultant will contribute directly to client projects by:
- Supporting projects for governments, developers and suppliers across Europe, Asia and emerging markets
- Working with senior industry stakeholders to shape strategy, policy and investment decisions
- Contributing to market-leading reports, models and tools
- Delivering analysis and insight
- Building insight through engagement with industry
- Developing a deep understanding of offshore wind technology, markets and supply chains
- Supporting business development and contributing to proposals
- Building and maintaining a network of industry contacts
We will work with you to focus on the areas where your skills and interests best fit together with business needs. You will become a trusted advisor in the offshore wind industry, building the analytical, commercial and client skills needed to lead workstreams and shape big decisions.
About you
We are looking for people with most of the following:
- Strong academic background (STEM, economics, or energy-related discipline)
- Enjoy working across a wide range of topics, with the ability to quickly get up to speed in new areas
- Confidence in your ability and talent as a high performer
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- An aptitude for order, accuracy, efficiency, and quality
- Curiosity and a hunger to learn
- A passion for the industries we serve
Some relevant professional experience working in industry is an advantage but not essential. We like to recruit based on talent and aptitude, rather than experience and knowledge.
You will develop into a trusted advisor in the offshore wind industry, building the analytical, commercial and client skills needed to lead workstreams and shape big decisions.

Consultant (Data Analyst)
The role
The Consultant (Data Analyst) will develop and maintain the analytical tools and data platforms that underpin our client work. These include data management platforms, data analysis tools, cost modelling tools, AI adoption, and internal IT systems.
The Consultant (Data Analyst) will contribute directly to client projects by:
- Supporting projects for governments, developers and suppliers across Europe, Asia and emerging markets
- Working with senior industry stakeholders to shape strategy, policy and investment decisions
- Contributing to market-leading reports, models and tools
- Delivering analysis and insight
- Building insight through engagement with industry
- Developing a deep understanding of offshore wind technology, markets and supply chains
- Supporting business development and contributing to proposals
- Building and maintaining a network of industry contacts
We will work with you to focus on the areas where your skills and interests best fit together with business needs. You will become a trusted advisor in the offshore wind industry, building the analytical, commercial and client skills needed to lead workstreams and shape big decisions.
About you

- Confidence in your ability and talent as a high performer
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
