Overview
Drumlin Wind Energy Co-op was in the final investment decision stage for the repowering of three single turbines in Northern Ireland. The owners had provisionally selected the EWT DW54 to 250 turbine to replace the existing WTN250 turbines.
We wrote a due diligence on EWT report that highlighted risks regarding:
- The EWT DW54 to 250 turbine technology
- The proposed turbine supply agreement (TSA) and maintenance and service agreement (MSA)
- The reliability of the annual energy production (AEP) report
We identified and reported on some potential risk issues relating to the TSA, MSA and AEP. Our report provided the client with the rigorous insight to review, measure, and mitigate potential project risks.
Key challenges
- Assessing the technical suitability and reliability
- Reviewing the terms and conditions agreements
- Validating the credibility of Annual Energy Production (AEP)
Key impact
- Delivered a concise yet rigorous Due diligence on EWT report
- Identified specific contractual and performance risks
- Equipped the client with clear, actionable insight
